| Patterson Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1957 to serve the employees of Reynolds Metal Company who worked in Gum Springs, Arkansas. The credit union was first operated out of Gum Springs Community Building from 1957 to 1965. In this time period, the credit union experienced considerable growth and decided to purchase land and a temporary office building in Gum Springs, located five miles south of Arkadelphia, with the intention of building a permanent building. In 1979, the credit union moved into its current office building located in Gum Springs, which is conveniently located near the Clark County Industrial Park.
After a plant shutdown of Reynolds Metal Company in 1985, the Board of Directors voted to allow other employee groups into our field of membership. The credit union actively expanded its field of membership over the years and served up to 15 employee groups.
In August of 2007 NCUA approved Patterson FCU's application for a community charter. This allowed us to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Clark County, Arkansas.
Patterson Federal Credit Union is a member owned financial institution committed to the philosophy of “People Helping People.”
